Why you can trust Phase 3 Connectors

Phase 3 Connectors is a UK-based company that takes quality and trustworthiness seriously.

We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products and services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.

To achieve this goal, we ensure that our entire supply chain has a minimum ISO accreditation, with some suppliers being accredited to AS9100, allowing the supplier to manufacture for aircraft.

Our competitors in the market may source their supplies from oversea countries as it is cheaper, but this often means sacrificing quality.

We guarantee that our suppliers are high quality, and our products always arrive on time.

Our accreditations prove that you can trust us, and they are something that we are very proud of.

We understand that trust is essential in business, and we work hard to earn and maintain it with our customers.

ISO accreditation is a certification that certifies that the management system, manufacturing process, and procedures have all the requirements for standardisation and quality assurance.

This means that we have a systematic approach to quality management and that we have procedures in place to ensure that our products meet the highest standards.

In addition to our ISO accreditation, we have also obtained VDE and UL approvals.

The VDE organisation is responsible for testing and certifying tools and appliances.

The VDE Testing and Certification Institute is renowned globally for its assessment of electrical engineering devices, components, and systems.

The UL approval is most widely known for its standards in electrical products in the USA and Canada.

The UL symbol and says UL Listed all relate to product safety for consumers. These approvals show that our products meet the highest standards for safety and quality.

We are also pending ISO 14001 accreditation, which is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful and grow, without overlooking their environmental responsibilities. This certification shows that we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and are committed to sustainable business practices.

Our connectors are the highest-rated of this type on the market, as we have paid for the product to be tested externally, and they have met the standards required during the laboratory test. We understand that our customers rely on our products to be of the highest quality and to perform as expected. We take pride in our products and strive to ensure that they meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

In conclusion, at Phase 3 Connectors, we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products and services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. How do our Powerlock connectors actually work?

How do our Powerlock connectors actually work?

Powerlock connectors can be either inline source (male connectors) or inline drain (female connectors). But how do they work together?

What is line source (inline male)?

Inline source connectors are intended to have their permanent connection in the direction of the source of electrical energy. This can be up to 660A-800A. Male source connectors have a male pin to insert into a panel mount.

At Phase 3 we don’t compromise on safety which is reflected in the Powerlock design. We’ve ensured the gap between the insulating cap on the male pin of the connector and the surrounding plastic housing is far too small for a human finger to fit – preventing possible injury.

Drain (Source)

What is line drain (inline female)?

Our line drain connectors have a female receptacle on the insert. Female devices are intended to have their permanent connection in the direction of equipment receiving power. Again, Phase 3 take every precaution to ensure total safety when using our Powerlock connectors. The female drain connectors have a spring-loaded plastic cap to prevent dirt ingress as well as preventing dangerous casual contact with the electrical metalwork.

When the male and the female connectors are mated, they cannot be disconnected. This firm locking together of the connectors is what gives them their Powerlock name. The only way to disconnect the locking pin is to use a release key. These can be supplied alongside connectors in customer specified colours.

CamLock Connectors

Single Pole Connectors

A single pole connector is best used for making power connections, where multi core cables would be more difficult to uses, due to size, weight, and cable bend radius.

Single pole connectors are used globally, except for America where a camlock connector is more commonly used. The name for this type of connectors are referred to as Powerlock type connectors. So how does it work.

The connectors are individually keyed, colour coded, and IP67 when mated. We can also supply environmental caps to support IP Ratings when the connectors are not in use.
